I want my site to be on page 1 for search engines… any program to recommend? :) THANKS!?
March 22010
HI! I run a family website and would like it to be on at least page 1 (preferable in the top 3 listings) of search engines – at least Google, Yahoo, and Ask. I really need it to be on page one for at least 10 key words such as family, mom, children, etc. (By the way "Microsoft Operations Manager Home" is the top listing for "MOM" on google!!!!) Do you have any programs to recommend? I will pay for it if it achieves what I want! Please let me know!!! THANKS!!!
I thought that hits was what it took to, but I’ve seen some advertise that they guarantee page 1!
Should your website or opening webpage fail to contain "generic" keywords, then any Internet surfer using such "generic" queries will not be able to discover your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website, in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.
Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the Internet audience and their incoming setup. For example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages take too long to load up and therefore analog users will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple question, "Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users for maximum marketability, then select analog users since 80% of most resident users are still analog Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages is best for them.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one’s goods and services.
And the very last category – "Keywords" are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which is defined as the loading, and submission of repetitive words into a particular metatag category. "Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the elimination of your website from their search directory.
Here’s an example of a very highly-placed website on Yahoo.com: Begin with the search query "pizza downtown los angeles." It will bring up some 1.4 million+ websites as results. Check out where "Pizza Next Door" is ranked. It’s in the Top Five! Again, Pizza Next Door’s high web presence was achieved by proper web design and placement of relevant metatags according to Yahoo’s publication guidelines.
Good luck!

I know of no SEO service that can actually guarantee the #1 spot. That’s hype and not realistic no matter how much money you spend.
It takes work and some crafty keyword research and writing to get in the top 10, let alone the top 3.
My Profile has links to information. Look at "Internet" and "Favorite Links".

Hi, Generally websites come on top based on their ranking & number of hits. There are lots of programming methods to put your website on top, but those are not 100% gauranteed. Best approach will be go for paid service with Google or Microsoft or Yahoo. They will display your link on top based on deal you make. You can do this for a month or so. With in a month, you will have enough hits and then you don’t need to use paid service.
I hope it helps!!

Write good content and the search engines will find you….period! That being said , there is a process .
You can sit by and try outsmarting the search engines by loading keywords and such, but only good well written content as you would say or write in a letter to a friend…in a manner of speaking will make the SE’s beat a path to your door.
There is an in depth explanation to be found on Sitesell’s Blog, and there is the shorter version to be found on the second link listed below.

Hi,
I’ll try and answer this one for you. Getting to the top of the search engine rankings is the dream of every website owner. Trouble is, only 10 people can be on the first page of results for each keyword.
In the case of the word "mom" there are 2,740,000 web pages with that word in the title of the web page.
In the case of "family", it’s even more depressing, 19,300,000. And "kids" is 15,300,000.
The reason why the currrent 10 websites are on the first page of Google’s results for each of the keywords you mention is because of a combination of 2 factors.
The first is ‘on-page SEO’. On page SEO means that the keyword (mom, family, kids etc.), has been strategically placed throughout the web page so that the Google spider ‘thinks’ the page relates to the subject.
The second factor is what Google refers to as ‘PageRank’. A web page’s PageRank improves when other webpages (that have a similar topic focus) link to it.
So, the more pages that link to you, the better. And even better still, is to have pages with a high PageRank link to you.
This second factor is sometimes called off-page SEO and is the more important of the 2.
So, the reason why Microsoft is ranked first for ‘MOM’ is because the acronym MOM occurs frequently throughout the web page, millions of people link to the Microsoft page, and Microsoft itself has a 10/10 pagerank.
It’s very hard to compete with that.
Despite this rather depressing news, It is still possible to rank highly for related terms that people search for frequently, where there are relatively few web pages that have been optimized for that keyword.
For instance, instead of the word ‘mom’, what about ‘moms friend’?
There are only 227 websites with those 2 words in that order in them, and over 7000 queries a month that use that exact keyword phrase.
You could easily rank well for that phrase as well as hundreds of others.
There is no magic bullet for ranking well in the search engines.
The SEO guys that will promise you a top ten listing, will only do so for key words such as the one I mention above.
There’s nothing clever in that.
You can do it yourself for free.
For a full run down on how to do it, plus how to obtain all the numbers I have used in this answer, please visit my website, which is accessible from my Dr DIY link.
Hope this helps.

EVERYBODY has access to these same SEO tools to improve the standing of THEIR websites. Search engines were designed as RESEARCH tools, NOT as ADVERTISING tools. Yet another "big lie" propagated by the Internet community is the importance of search engines to Internet marketing. "In business there are no guarantees, only opportunities."
