In a game listing, is the 1st or 2nd team listed the home team?

As in, "Yankees vs. Red Sox", or "Brazil vs. Denmark". When two teams are playing at a neutral site, can you tell from the order of the names which one is considered the home team?
If so, is the convention worldwide or is it different in different parts of the world? Thanks in advance!
2nd team is the home team. Yankees vs Red Sox means Yankees at the Red Socks.

The second team listed is the home team in American sports. In the rest of the world, the home team is listed first.
