Is there any way to find home foreclosures for free?

March 22010

I am trying to find a website that has complete foreclosure listings for free. Every time I look on the web the foreclosure sights say the listings are free, but in order to look into this any further you have to pay a fee with a debit or credit card. Is there any sight that truly is free? A sight that will give you addresses without having to pay? Thanks for answering if you can!

Foreclosures are listed at your local courthouse for free.

listings are free, but they are usually general vague descriptions. To get more detailed info like an address a lot of sites charge a fee. Did you try your local county website? I know here in Ohio both Montgomery and Green counties list sherrif sales, which are basicaly foreclosures.

There are 3 types of loans, so 3 kinds of foreclosures.

FHA – Become HUD homes. 100% listed in the MLS. Must use a HUD registered Realtor to bid. Get these FREE from YOUR Realtor.

VA – Become VA owned properties. 100% listed in the MLS. Must use a Realtor to bid. Get these FREE from YOUR Realtor.

Conventional – Become bank owned properties, or REO (real estate owned). Almost 100% listed in the MLS. Must use a Realtor to purchase. Get these FREE from YOUR Realtor.

The sites that sell these lists know that you can get them FREE from YOUR Realtor. Also, many of the houses they have listed are already under contract. I know this by comparing their free (partial info) list against the HUD list, since the HUD list is what most of their houses came from.

If you’re just curious about foreclosures, buy yourself these lists. If you’re actually going to buy a house, then get a Realtor now, get pre-approved, and you’ll get it.

Did I mention you can get the FREE lists from YOUR Realtor?

There are no "Free Sites" for this. However you can go to the County Seat – Courthouse and check whats being foreclosed on. or in the counties that you are looking for properties find the newspapers where the foreclosure notices are published.

If your thinking of buying before bidding you should have the title checked to see what is also against the title and if it could ever be cleaned up.

    Good luck…
