It seems to me that their are more short sale listings then regular listings. Does anyone know if they really go for what they are listed? Take for instance, a $45,000 home that is a short sale, yea i know it takes for ever and short sales are a pain but having so many of them and such a short market of buyers, do you think the odds of getting them for asking are in my favor? thanks

Most lenders, especially in states that don’t allow deficiency judgements, are not going to accept a drastically lower sales price. He house for sale for $45k may very well be worth…$45k. The thing is, banks have no incentive to agree to a short sale-they do not own the property so it is not sitting in their inventory so, if it takes the owner 1 year to find someone to sell it to for a reasonable amount-it is no skin off the mortgage company’s nose as long as the pay,ents are being made.

I’ve heard people tend to remove their listings when it’s slow during the winter. Would that mean fewer homes for sale? Wouldn’t it make sense to leave it on just in case there’s a surge in buyers some some reason?

Some people do not want to go through the effort to keep their house "market ready" during the slow months and holidays. Traveling, visiting family, holiday events sometimes take priority. And some people do not want to move during that time of year. But if you do not have those issues, I would leave it on the market.

I want to look at foreclosed homes for sale in my area, but don’t want to go through tons of scam sites to find them. I also want to avoid paying for a listing, if I can.

Any local realtor will know all of those properties. They are also listed in the country courthouse since foreclosure proceedings go through the courts.

I am in the market looking to buy an old home, preferably over 100 years. However I can’t seem to find ANY. When I look at American real estate sites though there are thousands of listings. I need help finding old houses!!

Is there any homes for sale in ohio for under $5,000 where can i find listings for these homes please be specific

Any home under $5000 is either in the middle of a gang war zone and used as a crack house, has been condemned by the city/county, has SERIOUS structural damage, mold, probably had had the wires and pipes sold for scrap, and holes in the wall. Every heard of the phrase "You get what you pay for?" If theses were even REMOTELY good purchases to make, don’t you think that they would be bought up in 30 seconds and never make it to a listing??? You would spend more fixing it up, than what you could sell it for.
